Important traffic safety notice for Annawan Drivers:
When approaching a school bus on Route 78 in Annawan, drivers must STOP in both directions if the bus has its stop signal arm activated. This applies to Route 78 as it is a two-lane roadway, even with the center turn lane. Passing a stopped school bus with an extended arm is not permitted.
For highways with four or more lanes allowing at least two lanes of traffic in opposite directions, drivers meeting a stopped school bus on the opposite side are not required to stop. However, this rule does not apply on Route 78.
